contributes his time and expertise to present this workshop series as a
community service, and has been doing so since the program began in
1999. Dawn Farm, the Livingston/Washtenaw Safe and Drug Free Schools
and Communities Act Consortium, and Saint
Joseph Mercy Health System Mission Services co-sponsor the program, and
provide support and assistance. The series is funded with a grant
from the Wal-Mart

programs. Ron is a social worker with over 35 years of experience working
in diverse settings with substance-involved teens and their families. He has
presented numerous education and training programs on teen substance abuse,

Dawn Farm
The goal of Dawn Farm is to assist addicts and alcoholics in achieving
long-term recovery. To accomplish this, Dawn Farm will identify and remove
barriers that prevent addicts and alcoholics from joining the recovering
community. The Dawn Farm community of programs includes residential
treatment services for ages 17 and over, outpatient
treatment services for ages 18 and over, sub-acute
detoxification, jail outreach education and intervention, community/"street"
outreach and intervention, transitional
housing, and other support services for recovering addicts and alcoholics. Day Break, a treatment program for adjudicated adolescents
with substance abuse problems, was begun in March 2004 as a collaborative
program of Dawn Farm, the
